Hey, I was wondering if admins/moderators could post their reason for closing a thread.

I understand that this would be harder to do with deletions (considering the thread is removed), but maybe send the user a PM?

I'm just bringing this up because of [ame="http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=9575"]Abandoning chat, moving to MixApp. - TF2Maps.net[/ame] . /thread doesn't mean anything to me, and I might make a similar mistake and get another thread locked.

    Thanks guys.

    Basicly, pointless thread.

/thread, derives from the BB code to close something, for example, [/IMG]. Hence it's use here.

Pointless thread in Off Topic? Doesn't it not account for your post count?

I realize what /thread means, but it's useless for me. Also, he could have closed it when he said "uh, ok." which is where my confusion came from.

Also, I'd argue that it wasn't a pointless thread, but that wouldn't get me anywhere.\

EDIT: Thanks for the clarifications. I can't figure out why exactly I'm thanking you two, though.

    Bye.

    it wasnt a pointless thread.
you posted some info claiming you were leaving chat and posted a way for users to contact you. thats perfectly fine.

its closed because the thread had run its course and the only direction the thread was going is south.

i did mean to close the thread after my first post but forgot :)
