Well, I want to make an outdoor map, but I can't seem to make the sky, it auto-appears black when I try to test in-game.

Is there a tutorial for outdoor maps anywhere?

Even if a map is "outdoors" it still has to be enclosed in a box, and sealed from the void (the area outside your map) To get a sky effect use the texture "tools/toolsskybox" in an "airtight" box around your map.

Create a box with the nodraw texture.

    Make it hollow.

Use the texture application tool to put tools/toolsskybox on the inside faces.

Also for changing what the skybox looks like go to map properties and look at the box sating skybox texture (defualt says sky_01_ and then change the skybox texture to a texture you like.
You can find this by looking through textures by typing in the material filter skybox and then looking at the tf2 ones and it'll say stuff like skybox_example_up and skybox_example_rt
you only need to type in skybox_example into the box :)

    Hope this helps :)

I did the map properties edit already. Break time for me, just worked on putting down the payload track for about an hour and a half.

Though to be fair I usually don't care about the skybox during alpha.
