Hey,

not really a "request", rather a question.

I am looking for Quake3 Map Remakes, The only map i found is dm_q3dm17 by DEAD, while being very close to the original, I guess doing jumppads is tricky for TF2(?) and some of them are really weird.

So does anyone know of more quake3 remakes? I would be most interested in q3dm6 aka Campgrounds.

Figured this would be the best place to ask as you guys might have more sources than just trying your best with google.

Quake maps play well in Quake, not TF2. Either ask on less serious mapping sites like Gamebanana or make the maps yourself.

I'm sorry Seba, but every time you mention that we're a serious TF2 mapping site, I look at your avatar and I just can't believe it.

I've been making a quake map, but haven given up on it long ago. I got quite a lot of progress done as well.
Here's an old video I made, I've since updated the map.

If you would like to pick this map up, I'd be more than willing to lend you the required files, and do the 3d modeling for you.
I have a good bit of respect for Seba and what he says and can understand why he'd say that Quake maps stay with Quake and TF2 maps stay with TF2. If something like a goofy mario kart theme and minecraft can be accepted by the general TF2 community, this can too imo. I can personally see Quake maps played with an instagib plugin in TF2.
This comes to mind exactly.

I choose that in TF2 over 2fort sniping.

If you want to play quake maps, go play quake.

It's free and you don't even have to install anything. You can run it right out of a browser window these days.

Quake and TF2, although derived from the same engine, do not play anything alike.

I know i'm not answering your question, i just thought i'd warn you.

Yea, was my plan to use it for DM and/or Instagib

I *think* i've actually tried your alpha version at some point. I wouldn't be able to finish it though, at least not with my current knowledge about hammer.

I'm well aware that it would play a lot differently and my plan was to use it only for DM / Instagib or something.
