Q: Loading custom maps on local servers cause clipping + lag?

    Hello TF2maps.net-ters.

    I've been downloading a lot of the WIP maps in an effort to reciprocate just some of the awesome help I've gotten from lurking on the boards.

    However, every map I load locally (including stock valve maps and my own recent creation) causes so much lag that I can't even walk up stairs (I clip through them and am stuck at the same elevation that I spawned on) or jump because the engine never catches up to my actions--or something similar to that effect...

    Do I have a setting or something wrong? In theory, if I create a game locally I shouldn't have any lag...

    Wich maps are we talking about?
    Some maps haven't been optimized yet and therefore lag a bit.
    I remember that one version of my map lagged a lot before I started optimizing.

    How exactly do you run the map? Just with the create server option in the menu?

    Any and all. I thought it was just because some of the WIP maps were rough around the edges, but I then loaded up turbine and 2fort and was having the same problems.
