Now we can stop using that improvised sdk and start using the real deal. And I could learn how world portals work.
I'm trying my hardest not to be cynical about anything Gabe says involving time.
It should be somewhere on that list
Wow, I thought it was supposed to be a few months before the official release.
Only reference to "few days":
"In a few days : Within 24 hours"
Inb4 this happens.
To be honest, can't wait for it to come out, Swarm SDK is really bad, it crashes a lot for me
Exxxceelllent, I can finally make maps alongside you guys (not going to bother with a hacked together version of the AS SDK)
This. I looked at the process for setting up the AS SDK and was like dohoho and went back to studying.
It's not hacked together at all.
It works exactly the same as any other SDK.
All you have to do is copy some files, change some settings and run a bat file. Not hard at all. I managed it!
More to the point, I managed it, and i made a map that had a gemebreaking bug every three versions, released and tested a map with a locked spawn, and broke my arm doing a pratfall once. What i'm trying to say, is that any idiot can do it.
This announcement calls for some music
"When do you think it will be ready to be launched?" "In a few days"
It may be ready to be launched in a few days, doesn't mean it will derpaherpaderp. I do hope it is soon though.
I can make it come out faster: I just need to put myself into a situation where I have absolutely no free time to make PackBSP compatible with it
When they say "beta", they're not kidding. Hammer has crashed twice so far: once while trying to open a file, and once while going through the prop browser. Still, it should be fun to play with. Does anyone know if BSPSource can decompile Portal 2 maps competently enough to open?
In the rough n' ready thread there is a complete list of decompiled P2 maps.
I can't type the letter "U" in the search bar of the model browser, its hard to find "tubes" that way.
Separate names with a comma.
