Peculiar leak

    My map is fully sealed; there are no areaportals; loading the map's pointfile does not tell me what is causing the leak; all the entities - all of them - are inside the map, and yet I am still getting leaks... and a strange problem.

    Apparently, all of the props are outside the map. This is not the case; all of the map's entities are inside the map. Is there anything that could be causing Hammer to think all of the props are outside?

    Are their origins in the map? Did you recently move entire chunks of your map around?

    The origins are well and truly in the map. As I said, the point file doesn't give me anything, so that probably isn't be the problem.

    If Hammer says they're outside the map then they are, check the bottom of your map to see if props are sticking out under the level, etc. Check all around. You'd be really surprised where you'd find a leak you didn't notice earlier.

    Another solution would be to just redo your skybox.

    When i get "Outside the map" problems, i find the props are usually inside brushes. could that be it?

    After a good look, I found out that the problem was something to do with some of the brush entities and optimisation brushes. I don't know what, but nearly all of them (even Invisible and Hint) were causing mysterious leaks. I get leaks even if only Invisible brushes are the only tools that have not been hidden (as well as the skybox of course).

    Thankfully the trigger_capture_area and the func_doors were untouched (which makes this all the more confusing).

    Just to note, because static props are not real entities, they cannot leak, period. That's why VBSP merely gives an "out of map notice" in a completely separate area from where leaks are detected.
