[Payload] Desert Dazzle - Dazzling Destruction similar to Badwater. PL_DESERT_DAZZLE A map inspired by Badwater. BLU must push the cart to RED's propaganda-broadcasting communication base. This is my first SERIOUS map, and I hope it shows. The Frontline Pack was used for a whole lot of the buildings. TO DO LIST: Add in the straight tracks. Detail and Displace. Remake BLU's spawn... I'm not proud of it. It's too easily spammable. Remove that hidden message nobody will find. Clipping. Intro video... because reasons.
It seems like you have forgotten to pack a few textures and model. Also brighten up the map a bit as it feels dark. Can see the doors and i have a full view of all four exits. Problematic area IMO. Defenders can hold this area due to it being tight and chokey. This would be kinda fine if this was before last but this is after the first checkpoint. With Badwater, attackers could take advantage of the roof but in here, there is a little advantage towards attackers beside the balcony. Another problem with the map is that there is only one way to get to last and that's through this tight payload route that defenders can easily hold. With badwater there two routes that can get you to last (three if you're a scout, soldier, demoman or engie). Do take the shit I said with a grain of salt as I am not an accomplished mapper nor have I ever made a payload map.
I forgot to pack the frontline pack. Also, there's a door in the RED base that I forgot to link up. There'd be a shortcut of sorts. I plan to add a second bridge under there.
Updated pl_desert_dazzle: Added underpass to the bridge. Added flank route to last. Added small building on last. Rebuilt RED's spawn so that it can't be entered. Rebuilt BLU's spawn to be less easily camped. Added small buildings around the second point. Notes: This took me so long to make because I was constantly going places this summer. Also, CompilePal decided to not compile several times... not to mention I got sidetracked with other map concepts for Back to Basics. Thanks, and enjoy the map. Read the rest of this update entry...
