Open Ground

    Anyone played Conker: Live and Reloaded? Well if you remembered Fortress Deux I wanted to take that layout and make a map, not really plagarism in whole just a bit.
    But there is a place full of open flat sniper lovehole ground what should i do put shacks or a small mining village ect? [​IMG] the layout.

    Your first problem i can see is that corridors in TF2 are bad. At least long or overly narrow corridors. Something i noticed with the flanking routes there as they are long thin corridors.

    As for the rest of it it's hard to determine scale and thus sightlines. At most a sightline should be 3000 hammer units, a lot of maps max out at 2600, 2800 units. there's the odd 3200, but these generally arn't exploitable by snipers for what ever reasons, narrow field of view is normally the case.

    Well this is just for a rough idea of the layout, im changing bits like those thin corridors and making them larger while making the base smaller. And so on any ways this would play better apart from that?

    As long as you throw in some ledges/catwalks for height variation, and optimise your base so that the inside doesn't render outside and vise versa, you should be fine.
