I have a set of prop_static stairs in my map, but every time I test it, they disappear. Is there any way to solve this?

P.s, when I use a light_enviroment, and test the game, the light seems to light up areas from a complete different direction.

The props might not coded to be used as statics... check the info tab on the model browser.

Had this same problem with the lantern from the 2fort prop set. Boojum is probably right.

Just checked. Unfortunately, it is a static prop.

I had this problem once with a billboard. I tried to move it around a bit and made sure that it was touching a brush, and then it started working.

I sometimes get this when I don't do a vis compile, or have vis leaf errors.
