Yeah, I know, Norman is a terrible virus protection software. With that out of the way; It has detected GameOverlayRenderer.dll (I assume this is the Steam overlay) as a trojan and has placed it in quarantine. Because the program is so shit I can't take it out of the quarantine because a script is broken, so I can't launch Steam since it doesn't find the file.

What I want to ask is if anyone else is experiencing something like this - Norman users or anyone else. Does Steam really have malware? It would also be great if anyone knew if it's actually possible to get a file out of quarantine.

    Damn it. :cursing:

    uninstall 'Norman'.
Download steam again and reinstall. It should install its original files and update.

Lol, no one's heard of it even? It's free with my bank, so that's why I'm using it.

I looked into the program and I saw that it hadn't bothered to install the firewall when it was installed. That's just nice. So I installed that but I had no luck.

Since it's a false positive and I can't correct it, I have no use for this crap anymore. Avast sounds good already.

I don't think VALVe is trying to destroy our computers... (or do they?)
Anyway, I didn't have problems with steam's overlay.
    You better check the web.
