Really new to tf2 mapping, just want to know if it is possible to cut this block in half where the black line is.
    Thanks in advanced!

Make a brush at one half, ending just where the black line does. Then select the brush you created, click 'tools' at the top and then 'carve'. This will remove any part of any brush the brush you selected are inside.

Nevermind, someone in the tf2 maps chat helped me.
Had to zoom in to the 2d view if the [ and ] keys and then I could use the clip tool!

    Yes, you can!

Just select clipping tool :)clippingtool: this one here) and then make a line in the sideview of the block. Like this:

And don't forget to hit shift + x if you want to keep the two sides. The red outlined side is the one that is going to be deleted, so just hit shift + x until both sides are white outlined.

    Edit: Ninja'd twice!

Up in the left courner you minimize and make it bigger just by clicking some boxes, if Im not wrong again. Do that til' you achieve something familiar, or just make a new standard.

Here's a tip for both of you: Don't use carve, ever. It seems convenient on paper (When I started out I used it pretty much constantly), but it's a terrible habit. Carving with complex shapes does horrible things to your brushwork and visleaves. Carving with simple shapes isn't really easier than clipping or vertex editing once you get a hang of those things, and the latter methods give you much more control.

I quoted the wrong thing, ignore that. I meant this:

Never do this. But it's been covered.
