    Depot Dispute v.1 (CTF)

    My first map. A basic CTF map sort of like a larger 2Fort, with two identical bases.

    Being my first map, I can't claim it's bug-free or even all that hot in terms of action, but since I'm continuing to develop more maps I thought I'd toss it out and see if anyone can offer any constructive criticism. I have taken pains to eliminate every bug I could find. The only remaining one I'm aware of at this point is a bad (purple) cubemap somewhere in the red base, but that doesn't bother me too much.

    The open area with lots of high vantages is sniper-friendly, but there are underwater routes and ground cover to compensate. There are lots of ways into and out of each base, but I think I've balanced it fairly well for difficulty of both offense and defense.

    This map looks pretty fun. Is there anything under the water like a tunnel to the other base or is the train bridge the only dry access to the other base?

    Looks good only first picture textures arent aligned well enough, the dark wooden farm on the right lacks detail... And sniper friendly is a good thing for me :D
    Texture of the mountain rocks seems to stretched out too.

    From the water in the center, there are two tunnels into each base. One leads to the circular shaft at the front middle of the base, and the other leads to the big smokestack on the side. Those two are also internally connected by water, and from the middle shaft there is another water tunnel going to the well behind the base - and there's an air vent opening right there. So if the snipers are too good, you can sneak in several different back ways either to get the intel or backstab the snipers.

    You're right, I should have put a trophy skull or something on the front of the shed. In general I guess this map could use some more detail items - noted for next version.

    There are some places where I just couldn't align the textures the way I wanted, so I had to break the pattern a bit. I'll think about replacing those with different textures instead.

    And yeah, I had a hard time with the surrounding rocks. That rock texture almost dictates the shape of the rocks with its pattern, but I decided to use a choppy shape to see if making it more chaotic would work.

    Thanks for the comments, everyone! Once I get enough changes together, I'll post a v.2, but meanwhile I'm mainly working on a new map.

    Really good map, I love it!

    However, i'm not going to add it to my server because i'm not a fan of the intelligence room. For a 32 slot server it'll be way to hard to get in/out of the int. room.. it's way to small halls to get in, especially for spies.

    Ah, excellent point. I didn't consider that at all. I was concentrating more on providing multiple routes. I'll keep that in mind.
