Hey there, very new map maker here just getting started.

Right now on the map I'm making I have a section of roofing that is sloped to prevent players from sitting up there and camping spawn doors and whatnot. Unfortunately the slope that fits the geometry is not steep enough to prevent this by design. Is there any way I can make the surface of this roof 'slippery'? I need it to be so that no players can stand/surf on the surface, and I can't seem to find anything helpful.

    Thanks is advance!

If you don't want players to sit on a roof, just use a clip brush to block it off.

Oh my goodness, for whatever reason I had forgotten I could rotate clipping brushes xD

Thanks so much for reminding me!

Instead of rotating you should clip your brush to a triangle.
Or don't rotate/clip the brush at all and just put a clip brush over the roof.

Oh and, you missunsed the word surfing in the title? surfing =/= standing on a slope.

I was trying to limit the ability for a player to stay on the rooftop of the building, but not limit their ability to jump over or above it in the first place. In the end I opted to rotate a clipping brush to a sharp enough players will slip off, but even still it's not exactly what I wanted.

The term surfing in the title was referring to how a player could essentially stand on a rooftop that would otherwise be to steep, by holding any directional key towards the top of the slope. Keeping a player from standing on the rooftop is easy, but keeping a player from being able to essentially levitate on the same slop is more difficult I found.

    I see now.

While I don't know how exactly you placed the cliping brush now, I think you really should clip :clippingtool: the brush to a triangle instead of rotating it. So it won't be off-grid.

You could probably use a func_push to push people off.

This is what I would do, the magenta is the playerclip.
