MvM Day Two: Upgrades & Tactics

    Have you seen the movie Alien? Remember how tough that alien was? Well, imagine if there was a version of Alien but with like hundreds of aliens. One: That would be a great movie that we now own the idea for. Two: The impossible odds of that situation pretty accurately describe the trouble you’re in for when that carrier opens on Wednesday and Gray Mann’s robot army pours out. Luckily, we solved the enormous plot hole that would have plagued our currently-in-production Alien sequel by offering MvM’s plucky heroes a whole mess of deadly upgrades for their weapons, items and abilities, which you can read about here.

    We’re also unveiling a new museum-themed map called Coal Town. It features many informative placards about the fascinating details of life in a turn-of-the-century mining community, which you can read when you’re lying on the ground holding your own guts in while a robot stomps on your neck.

    These upgrades are just gonna confuse the already skitzophrenic gameplay. At least that's what i forsee. How are we gonna be able to tell what upgrades people are using in order to improvise tactics in real time in public play?

    is the new map just a map or is it got some weird twist to it i.e. mannworks' bomb.

    I'm pretty sure the bomb carriers are in all the maps.

    Unless there's a different "twist" about Mannworks I didn't see.

    I can't seriously imagine that they would introduce an upgrade system to the normal PVP games. I'm sure the weapon upgrading is not just tied to MVM matches, but within individual matches themselves (i.e. start from scratch with each new round).

    Also damn now i need to know how to use the action slot.

    Not sure if this image implies you have 250 grenades for your launcher or not.

    I'd assume the "250" is the number of credits it costs to upgrade.

    What i want to know is, will i be ending up getting +100hp on a kill if i pour mu credits into that one? REALLY?

    I assume it's healing only and i imagine with the choas this mode seems to be bigged up as it might be balanced in some odd way. IE some progressive difficulty per wave and you have to spec for DPS/Spam/Tank.

    I am curious about diminishing returns on things like firing speed.
