So I take a stroll around one of my old maps and I find this:

What used to be there in the frames of the door was an HL2 metal texture (bad form, I know, but it should still work). It was there before, but now it's mysteriously vanished.

Then I load another old map of mine and see this:

An entire section of wall, gone. I KNOW this was here, and now it's not

    wtf is goin on

I blame the pvs system. And areaportals. Disable both and see if the content reappears.

I think I kind of figured it out

With the HL2 texture, it probably has something to do with Steampipe rearranging the file system, idk

With the huge missing wall, that was a custom texture, and a look in the latest build's bsp file via pakrat confers a strange "invalid VTF file" message. Upon booting up TF2, I first went to the old version, and the wall is there. Then I loaded the newest version, and the wall is gone. Going back to the old version again, the wall is gone. How or why this is happening is beyond me, but at least I sort of know how what to look for to catch it.

I've had some weird errors with custom skins, the models would not render at all and I'd get my console filled with error messages.
And before that, it would refuse to load any non-default materials and give me errors and checkers instead.

Little question about the first picture : how could people see your armory-thing if it was masked by a wall ? (unless it was a wall with a transparent texture ?)

It was an HL2 grate texture, so yes, it was supposed to be see-though

Looks like I got it in the end anyway though :p
