Hello there. I've checked the metal grates at 2fort, the ones that don't block blast and fire damage. Are there any specific settings that'd determine wether or not a material is impervious to fire, or will all grates in general let it through?

It all depends on the .vmt parameters - the properties of the texture. Parameters like $compilepassbullets will make the texture nonsolid - in this case, to bullets. However, I don't think that either fire or explosives pass through any texture that's not fully nonsolid, which includes every grate texture.

Explosives pass through grate textures. Look at Harbour.

Try covering the grate in a brush textures with tools/blockbullets

This is the easiest way. Be careful though, sometimes func_detailing the bullet block and the grate together can result in you having an invisible walk way (the grate doesn't render or some such).

I think there are certian flags, or other brushes you may be needing to apply to that particular grate, try making the grates visual only with flags and put a layer of player clips on it so people cant go through, but projectiles can.
