Just for a laugh, I decided to calculate roughly my post quality, using "thanks" as an indicator.

I've got 243 posts, and have been thanked 75 times for 34 posts. So:

34/243, or 14.0% of my posts are useful. I've got on average 75/34, or 2.2 thanks per useful post, and have an average thanks rate of 30.9%, i.e. 75/243.

Calculating the same for Youme - he has 2116 posts, and has been thanked 256 times for 125 posts. So:

5.9% of Youme's posts are useful. Youme has on average 2.0 thanks per useful post, and has an average thanks rate of 12.1%.

Just goes to show, quality is better than quantity ;)

So, how do you stack up in comparison?

pffft I make loads of posts where the newbie mapper (with 1 or 2 postcount) replies with "thanks so much!", "I love you!", etc.. but they haven't discovered the thanks button yet.
I've also made loads more posts with info in my WIP threads than most, and no one thanks those but they're still informative and you all benefit when you play the final map :p

All I'm trying to say is: the thanks system isn't an accurate show of how helpful you are, but its a nice ego boost :D

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

We need a "you're cool" button.
