So, I had an idea for a Control Point on my A/D map, that would be inside of a grain elevator: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/95/Alicel_grain_elevator.jpg I want it to be round, and I want there to be three entrances, but I'm not sure how to do this. I tried using multiple arches and leaving gaps between them for doors, but it wasn't very precise and they weren't on the grid. Any suggestions?
I don't think you can do this on grid if you want your doors to be equidistant from each other, but if you want to make a Y shape you can just make a 360 degree arch with wall thickness 16 or whatever and then use the planing tool and vertex tool to cut/raise brushes into doorways with frames. So long as you use a power of 2 for the arch size, it'll be on grid, albeit the 1u grid in parts.
Like Tyler said you can't do three entrances in an equidistant Y shape and keep it on grid, but a T shape or modified Y shape would work. Here's some pictures of the process: 360 degree arch, make sure the number of sides is a power of two Turn on Ignore Groups and move up some pieces of it
Wow, thanks for the quick reply guys! I'll try that out in a bit. Edit: Hey, it works perfectly. Thanks again
