Lumberyard Grass Textures with Sprites

    Yes, yes, I know there have been many posts about this because I've read them all.

    I've tried to apply the blendgroundtograss007, make it a displacement, alpha paint it...so on and so forth. I did, however, get it to work once, but I was playing around with other textures and haven't been able to get it back.

    I've also changed the detail.vbsp to detail_trainyard.vbsp as well as the detail material file to detail/detailsprites_trainyard.

    Other blend textures with yellow grass work fine.

    Does anyone have a solution? :confused:

    are you sure you used the texture: blendgroundtograss007 and not blendgroundtograss007_nodetail?

    Not sure, but if the yellow grass still works "fine". Then you probably didn't set the detail files right...

    It is definitely blendgroundtograss007.

    Do you mean in preview in hammer or in-game? I can't see the sprites in hammer but they work when compiled.

    I probably should have tried that. :blushing:

    It does work in game, but kind of annoying that it doesn't show up in Hammer.

    You need a real high end Gcard for it to show up in hammer. My grass only shows up when im close to the ground with the camera in hammer and im using a GTX285. With my old machine a geforce 6600 it didnt show up until ingame.

    Well for me the alpine grass sprites don't show up at all regardless of my hardware.

    Tools > Options > 3D Views: Detail render distance
    The leaf button on the Map Operations toolbar, 5 right from the compile button.
