I just started using hammer, but I'm having a hard time viewing 3D models while editing. Whenever I have a model put down, I can't move very far from it or the bounding box around the object obscures it, and I haven't been able to find a solution it.

I also have a screenshot for you guys to see

Tools -> Options -> 3d Views -> Model Render Distance

Turn that value up by a bit and you should be set. I find 2000 or so to be good.

To extend the view distance for models, brushes, and all details, go to:
    Tools > Options > (Tab) 3D Views

The model render distance affects your props, and the back clipping plane is for when you go far out. Note that as they increase, your performance will decrease (as you are rendering more).
