    Hurray! At last!

    Code:
    Shelob ~ # emerge -pv gentoo-sources

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

    Calculating dependencies... done!
    [ebuild NS ] sys-kernel/gentoo-sources-2.6.24-r3 USE="-build -symlink" 45,724 kB

Total: 1 package (1 in new slot), Size of downloads: 45,724 kB
I'm going to recompile the kernel and update some other packages too on my home-server. So if you are missing some pictures in my posts, then it is down.
Should not take too long though (I hope).

And why am I eagerly waiting for this specific kernel? Because the CONFIG_NO_HZ kernel configuration option should now be available to 64bit. This option is required to get any kind of longer sleep times in the CPU, making it conserve more energy.

I managed to break Grub (error 15). As Grub is the bootloader, the system is not coming up now. :crying:

Time to search my live cd.

LOL, broke it up myself :D
I thought I had removed a useless sym.link. But it appeared that it WAS needed.
Now just some tweaking on power conserving...
