Hello all. I am new to mapping and I have come across this weird thing with lighting. I add a light and the brightest part is pointing up almost like a spot light. Is there a way to re-aim the light downward? Ive tried to rotate the light but that has no affect on it.

Did you have a light or a light_spot? The former shines in all directions, the latter shines in a specific direction, the one you want to use here.

A light entity does that. You can't give it a direction, it emits light in a sphere. If you want light to cast in a specific direction, you need to use the light_spot entity.

It's not direction being up, it's you having the ceiling the closest surface to the light, so the most noticeable light spot is on it. Place the entity close enough to a wall or the floor and you'll get the same on them.
