View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m7YqJ4MyG7w To note: name your vmf file before compiling. If you change the bsp's name after a compile the map will most likely break due to internal file structure problems that occurred when you renamed your bsp. I'll explain better so you don't misuse the version names. alpha (a*) let's others know that the layout is the main shot being worked on, detailing is fine on later alpha stages though be ready for layout changes still beta (b*) the layout is done (slight changes to layout is normal at beta though) and it's time to start detailing, pls release b1 when you've actually started detailing, not slapping a few textures here and there and call it a day release candidate (rc*) is the version you go for when layout and detailng is finally completed, many people go for that rc is the final version and nothing more, however don't worry if you have to go to like rc4 etc. Edit: Vel0city got me
it is maybe the final version of the map if you find an ussue feel free to tell me down below Read the rest of this update entry...
thats maybe the last version of the map in case you find an issue feel free to tell me down below. Read the rest of this update entry...
You don't make a final version of a map in a single version *cough*. Also a lot of people judge maps (workshop community cough) from it's looks not from it's layout, so people could like your map, but eventually they're going to start complaining a lot about the gameplay.
...and then build them in-game. Also, cubemaps should be placed in front of windows, above control points, hallways, etc. Not just water.
