I'm wodering if it's possible that whenever you spawn, you're under the effect of the parachute.
Yes, make a trigger brush entity around the spawn and make it a "trigger_add_tf_player_condition", then set the condition to (I'm not sure which) either
My money is on the ACTIVE one, but try both just incase. Remember to use the console command "thirdperson" to see if you get the parachute model on the character's back.
You won't get the model, but you'll definitely get the effect, so I too recommend using trigger_add_tf_player_condition
You might be able to spawn a parachute model from a template and parent it to the player on spawn, to mimic the parachute.
How would I do that exactly?
