Just 4 more game elements

    I'm working on a complete reskin of Team Fortress 2 - by which I mean I'm working on a complete recolor for Team Fortress 2. Regardless, I've sunk too much time into the thing to leave it unfinished. The problem in doing so is that after countless searches through all three Team Fortress 2 .gcfs, I came up with nothing for four separate elements, so I still have no idea how to modify the (colors of the) death notices text, scoreboard text, voicechat notifications (in the lower right corner), and maximum sentry range spheres that display when wielding the sentry toolbox.
    When I posted on the official Steam forums, one person helpfully pointed out hudlayout.res in /tf/scripts/ (from the content .gcf), but even though there are color fields for a few of those things, I can't find what the text strings are referring to, and just outright changing them has yet to do anything useful (unless breaking stuff counts).
    At this point, I'm at a complete loss. Any help at all would be appreciated; I want to finally finish this thing, even if it's just for the sake of finishing this thing.
    Also, I hope this is the right forum for this sort of thing.

    Not quite sure what you're talking about, but you may be thinking of tf_english.txt? In the team fortress 2 content.gcf in root\tf\resource\tf_english.txt

    I believe that some of them are in the client content one, under GUI.

    I've already modified tf_english.txt, and I didn't find anything in there that referenced text color or even font. Naturally, I searched it again anyway, but I didn't find anything.

    Actually, there's just one .dll in there. I searched the other two, of course, but only found some /vgui/ folders (and /VGUI/ ones), which didn't have what I was looking for, and some .vtx files, which for now I'm assuming are models. I don't have a program with which to open them, though, and there are some that look like they have something to do with the HUD.

    Thank you, though. This is already more than I found beforehand.

    HUD stuff (scoreboard, death notices etc.) is in the resource and scripts folders.

    I need a RAGE image macro

    Sifting through both folders yielded ChatScheme.res and ClientScheme.res, both from /resource. ClientScheme.res in particular contained a plethora of values in red and blue pairs, all of which I modified immediately. Naturally, changing eight or so fields produced corresponding results in the death notices and the "Not enough metal" message on the engineer's destroy panel. This game is going to give me an aneurysm, and it's probably going to be before I finish this skin.
