    Minus the rock in Screen 4, those are all tf2 textures from what I can tell.

    As a maker of this map with Thrym I feel obligated to say that the designing and constructing process was underway before the Shogun Pack update. Valve just happened to beat us to Japan.

    Also, my best wishes for recovery to all those who were injured during the earthquakes and tsunamis in Japan.

    The rock wall in screen 4 looks pretty weird, and the stairs. The texture on them doesn't look quite right and they are really really steep.

    Just so you know, there's already a few maps named cp_japan floating around out there. All the good names are taken by now, I know. :/

    There's nothing really in it that makes it uniquely Japanese, which unfortunately lends to the textures looking really out of place and rather very ugly.
    Also, I recommend never using that grass texture.

    It's the very first release of the map. The textures are extremely temporary, and we haven't detailed it yet, because we don't know what areas will work or not. It will look very Japanese by the time we are done with it! :)

    Already had a few PMs with people asking about my paper lanterns and screens. Unless you're all working on the same map, then I'm counting around 4 maps named cp_japan right now.

    My recommendation is to use a simple Japanese word that's descriptive. Or pick a prefecture name. cp_numachi (wetland), for example, or cp_yamanashi (prefecture).

    This map is way better than what people are making it out to be with their bitching. it isn't aesthetically pleasing though, and that alone seemed to ruin most people's attention span. I'm really disappointed in a bunch of people.

    You can make it look better by not using hl2 textures, and make your light_environment color less yellow.

    As far as the layout, I actually liked the first point. The spiral staircase tower building is questionable.

    I didn't like the 2nd point since it felt rather bland, and the point was just slapped in the middle of it. I didn't like the flanking route blu had to the 2nd point, it felt like they attacked red from behind and that got them inbetween the spawn and the point. The route should make them attack it from the side
