I want to make an MvM 2fort but Hammer is too complicated,
Thanks for any help!!!
Hammer really isn't that hard if you have an hour or two to sit down and learn it, or at least the basics. I, as well as many people on this website, would recommend that you watch Crash's series to start off with: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2KT0JL74Qff_c1WbqNi4K5yAmpWAUQlq
I feel you dude! I can remember thinking the exact same thing when I first picked up hammer. I would recommend working through some basic tutorials on youtube to get a feel for hammer. Just give it time, and you'll improve! Also MVM is a pretty complex gamemode, so its probably not the best place to start if your new.
to theatreTECHIE its just the navigating thats hard when it comes to the top, down, and side views of the map, for example I try to use the scroll things but it doesn't update as fast as that of scrolling in google. i just want an easy version of Hammer if there is. (i also dont know how to directly reply to others).
You can use spacebar + drag to pan around the 2D viewports
This article is has more information on navigating viewports in hammer: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Hammer_Viewports
to Necro, thanks!!!
also, how do i delete sections in some of the areas of the map (2fort) in the viewthings, i wanna turn the second floor spawn area into an upgrade station.
There is a site where you can download some kind of beta of a easy to use tf2 map editor. Just watch this video
i tried that but its domain is shutdown/expired
The website doesnt seem to be up anymore, however it is still hosted on the GitHub Page
I would disable any visgroups for stuff like optimization and then turn on the "ignore groups" button to delete the specific things you want deleted by just clicking them.
i look into the github thing but i need a more "clear" version of it.
Wait... Thats a thing?
Scrolling intensifies weakens
IVE BEEN LIVING MY LIFE AS A LIE
I like how the big mappers are all so surprised that this exists, and then there's just necro over there with all the information...
Tell us more!!!!!
ok, so i can open up the mapper but i dont know how to open the map i want to edit (2fort)
you need to download the decompiled map of it, which can be found here: https://tf2maps.net/threads/valve-maps-decompiled.5952/
