Ingame cubemaps error (return of the checkers!)

Edit 1: The texture was nature/ground_05.

So I type buildcubemaps in the console, and get presented w/ this error;

Current mod isn't in a subdirectory of "game"!
bounce: 1/1 sample: 1/4
bounce: 1/1 sample: 2/4
bounce: 1/1 sample: 3/4
bounce: 1/1 sample: 4/4
*** Error: Skybox vtf files for sky_gravel_01 weren't compiled with the same size texture and/or same flags!
Can't load skybox file sky_gravel_01 to build the default cubemap!

Various error searching on the web hasn't turned up any results. Any help on this is much appreciated, as it's the last thing standing between me and a beta release.

The texture isn't used by valve but contains an entry for a cubemap reflection. You can copy the vmt and delete this entry out of your copy.

What happened after you ran buildcubemaps? Was the purples checkers still there after you reloaded the map?

oh yeah, some of the texture don't work with displacements, don't have something or other, i got that too, shame, because it was a good texture to use as well.
