importing custom art

    Is there a tutorial for importing custom jpgs into your custom map. Its a pic, not a model per se. Custom "sprays" that compile and become part of the map. That sort of thing.. Custom sprays I have imported dont seem to make it through the compile process and end up as pink and black checkerboards.. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks in advance...

    If you're saying custom textures you placed in Hammer aren't available when others play the map, then what you're looking for is to have them packed into the BSP file using either Pakrat or PackBSP. If they don't show up when you play the map, I'm not sure what to tell you except to make sure the VMT and VTF files are in some subfolder of /tf/.

    Thanks for your response.. I have placed both the vmt and vtf in the appropriate materials file under tf folder but often i get that square with pink/black checkerboard to show up.. sometimes it works.. sometimes it doesnt... very unreliable.. Thats what is killling me is sometimes it works.. I will look at the pakrat and packbsp to see if something works better.. Im sure its me... just dont know what it is...
