Except maybe detailing. I can make things pretty until the cows come home, but as of right now, I have basically 0 motivation to create any gameplay-based maps. Yech.

Anyway, just wanted to get that off my chest because I felt bad having no activity recently, but now I think I'm prepared to just admit it. I'd still like to be on the site however. I don't particularly want to just LEAVE.

Speaking of which, when is the next detail contest?

Ditto, 100%. And there's no need to map if you don't want to. Recently, I've been a bit burned-out myself.

If you prefer detailing over doing gameplay stuff and don't want to quit mapping, maybe you can map for SFM if you're interested

And when I have no motivation, I listen music. Here's my favorite one:

I've been on mapping breaks too. The longest break was 10 months after making Haunted Forest for L4D2.
    It's normal.

You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't get burnt out every once in a while.

If you find someone who can work 24/7 without breaking a sweat, you might want to grab a screwdriver because they are most likely a robot.

You're not really burned out until you've been working on one map for 6 years while you watch generations of new users come and go, and see each successive generation insist the same bad ideas can be good. When you've answered the same questions over and over since 2007 about Source. When you've assembled a gameday of maps again and again that each make the same beginner mistakes.

You're just in a slump. Not burned out.

No worries, HQ. It'd be nice to see you in the Steam group chat room.

Have you thought about doing some other, less-serious projects? Maybe some maps for Deathrun, Surf, Fort Wars, VSH, Slender Fortress 2, Dodgeball, or look at helping some other folks out with fun/trade/achievement maps?
