Just some small remarks:
- WinXP or Win Vista? If Vista then put some extra 2 GB memory in it.
- only 1 HD with 250 GB? I never ever put my personal stuff (docs, email, maps) on the same HD as the one with the OS installed (I even have 4 HDs now with 1x 150GB and 3x 300GB).
- why a 8800GT when you want a quad processor? Isn't the graphic card becoming the bottleneck now? Or is the 8800GT the best value-for-money option at these days? (I have a Core2 Duo 6700 (@2.66GHz) and a 8800GTX, which might be the inverse of your configuration :) )
