But we're certainly going to try :p With the recent surge of new members and increased activity from our returning ones, we are once again in need of an upgrade; http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5961 Mad props to drpepper for this. Seriously, we owe him a huge debt of gratitude. Congrats to everyone who guessed correctly for my little riddle thing; http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5865 Now I'm certainly not suggesting that you flood his inbox w/ 'thank yous', because that would be wrong ;) Alternatively, 1 dollar goes a long way. If each person could find enough spare change to make a buck, we'd be rolling in it. And we wouldn't be having petty arguments over testing new types of ads; http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5958 I have never been especially blatant about asking for a contribution. But I hope you will at least consider what supporting this community is worth.

How about something a little less serious now? :p We have a host of fun user-events coming up this weekend; http://forums.tf2maps.net/forumdisplay.php?f=35 Our regular Gameday testing is temporarily on hold. I'm working w/ the other officers to reorganize, so it can be shorter and more flexible. We can start playing during weekdays, and hopefully make use of our European server. So all our friends across the pond aren't playing at absurd hours w/ 100+ ping, lol. Course you'd know all this if you joined the Steam group ;) Often times there are updates that are too small to be worth posting here, so I'll just put up a quick announcement in Steam instead.

Speaking of servers, I have begun a serious push to get a game playing during the week. It's such a waste to have these wonderful servers donated by our partners just sitting there 5 days a week :( I had actually started this past week, but certain complications arose, involving a squirrel and my tasty power cable; http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5915 However, I'm on Spring Break right now, and fully intend to be on at least 1 of our servers every night. We can blast some music, maybe chat about class strategies, etc. And if you really can't spare a whole couple bucks for donation, this is the next best way to support your community :cool1: Most up to date server info can be found here; http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5461

Last order of business, our seventh (yes number 7 ) contest is drawing to a close; http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5588 Big thanks to Youme for organizing this pretty much by himself. I have personally downloaded every single one of the entries, b/c they are just that good, lol. Also note that user BladeMasterPsi has taken the liberty of updating all of the decompiled Valve maps; http://forums.tf2maps.net/showthread.php?t=5952 These are exceptional resources, and I would recommend that everyone look them over. My thanks to everyone for your continued interest and support :) I really hope to catch everyone for a game this week. If we don't start using our servers, nobody will. Till next time, happy mapping! -Creepy Teddy Bear Avatar

I have to say - Donating is worth it:
1. You get to look down on everyone who doesn't have the sponsor icon under their name.
2. You'd be amazed at how much better the site is without ads.
3. A 3-month donation costs less than I usually spend at dinner.

If we got the site to be self-sustaining (i.e. everybody pitches in for a measly dollar), we increase the time bought for vip status to 1 dollar per month :D Taking an average of even 500 peeps, that's 500 bucks, which is more than enough to cover our monthly expenses, and pay for new upgrades. So 12 dollars could get you an entire year! Not to digress from the other news, I really hope to see some server activity this week. I'll be there for you to explode and/or set on fire :D
