How to Modify the HUD

Going to post this here because it might be a valuable resource for peeps and I don't really see it anywhere else on the site.

Here's a nice info item on how to modify the HUD - it's a PDF file:

I hope it is but like the article says PL /PLR are all over the place and unfortunately I need to modify a PLR and it doesn't seem to be working.
