how do i make the glass in this picture?
Its just a glass texture.
Search for it in the texture browser.
it's not very difficult.
what you do is create a brush (cube), then go to the texture browser, type 'glass' in the filter, and 'tf' in the keywords.
you should get 11 results for this.
these are all tranlucent textures that look like glass.
any of these will create unbreakable windows.
in particular to the picture, i think the texture used is the 2nd one.
now you just need to use the clipping tool, to make a 4-8 unit border around the glass (either made from the glass brush or from the wall brushes around it).
and there you go, a perfect window everytime.
- usually you also should copy-paste the glass brush, and set the copy's texture to tools/areaportal, and turn it into an areaportal.
however if it's for a window that shows an inaccessible room off of a low action area, such as in a spawn room, then you probably are better off omitting the area portal in that situation.
- for the glass textures that look like plain sheets of glass (in varying shades), remember to use the 'fit button in the texture application mode. otherwise it'll look quite odd, if your window is longer/higher than the texture size
