How to make custom models for maps?

I'm interested in learning how to make custom models on top of mapping, because I find being able to make custom models for my map to be pretty interesting. I've heard Blender is a great place to start, but I would still need to figure out how I can upload the model and such.

Can you guys help lead me to the right way of doing this? Just kind of lost. Thanks.

You make the model with a Programm like Blender and then you have to compile the model with a Programm called: Crowbar

you have to do some other things, im not sure what, i made one Model in my life, so i dont know everything perfect.
