I am a total basket case after the 72 hour contest but can someone make a 'How to compile your maps' thread in the tutorials / resources section.

I use VBCT most of the time and hammer last (since my machine normally drops to zero usage when using this option) but when I was looking at the 72 houre requirements - I didn't understand their compile items listed. Also if I compile with hammer and check off the hdr box - it takes longer and my maps always usually look too bright and washed out.

So - please - some one tell me / us what the best way to compile is

    THANKS!

If your map is too bright when you compile with HDR, you need to adjust the HDR options. Check the VDC.

It's likely that you are placing too many lights instead of making their brightness/falloff big enough. At least that's what it seemed like from your compile log in some other thread.
