    How to see Pyro_Land's textures in yours maps !

    hi, today i'll show u how to see these famous textures in yours favorites maps !! ^^ (i've founded that first :) )
    however ... no one will see the textures unless you ...

    1) Extract the MTP.cfg with GCFSCAPE from "cfg/mtp.cfg"

    2) add a line like this before the "}" :

    (replace MAP-NAME.bsp with your map name, like sd_monkeyday_b3.bsp or trade_plaza.bsp)

    it should be something like that

    3) place the MTP.CFG in
    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOURACCOUNTNAME\team fortress 2\tf\cfg

    then it WORK !!

    Well, I'm sure glad you founded this first. These textures are pretty famous, so I'm glad I can add them to my map. This very detailed tutorial is sure to help many people.

    I wonder why they added a whitelist. Seems like a pretty strange thing to do to me.

    You're forgetting that no one will see them anyway, because no one else will have that config file.

    Possibly to make checking for problems easier.

    It wouldnt surprise me if this update was rushed. That would explain why doomsday was so underdetailed. Creating a list of maps to check might be easier than avoiding issues in all.

    i've tried to add the .cfg file in my map with pakrat ... but it doesn't work ... TF2 load the file at the launch of the game ... so, its impossible, unless if valve can remove that stupid file and add these textures to all maps ...

    You tutorial sets this up locally, you will see the textures, but nobody else will.

    Unless there is a way to package this into a bsp and have a client run it, no one else will see the textures in your map unless they also manually add it to their own config.

    it would be really nice if there was a line you could add to a custom map cfg file that would enable it. A whitelist does seem like a bit of an obtuse way of doing it. :/

    Question - if you hosted a server can you set up the server so that it loads the cfg onto the client's who connect?

    Can we also get some before after pics done - thanks.

    i don't know if a server can exec this file. its not a normal .CFG ... ;)

    if u try, the console will write that:

    this CFG look like a Script (like weaps, sounds loaders ...) not like a classic CFG

    Well then it looks like valve blew it with this one then. If you have to do a custom to see it and you can't export it off of a sever to client then the fancy option is pointless and not really worth persuing at this point.

    But thanks very much for the info - might be fun to see my maps in pyrovision :)

    u need to extract it with GCFscape

    1) extract it from :
    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps --> "team fortress 2 content.gcf" --> tf/cfg/ --> "MTP.CFG"

    2) place it in :
    C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\#########\team fortress 2\tf\cfg --> Directory

    3) edit it like i said

    4) Have Fun ! ;p

    Yea, I'm bumping this 2 years later.

    You no longer need to extract mtp.cfg, it's already in the tf/cfg folder. :)
