Hi. I am writing my statistics homework and thinking 'Wow school really sucks'.

Whats your guys opinions on school and why?

I really do hate school at the moment. We haven't learnt anything in ages then they spring constant exams and new stuff on us. For instance they've made the top groups in English and Maths do extra subjects like Statistics and English Literature. English Litaruture is okay but Romeo and Juliet gets boring after 3 essays. As for statistics what a load of dogbread.

Then theres the subjects i actually wanted to do to start a career in game programming but I passed the coursework with distinction for this year ages ago and free time does eventually get boring especially when some of the computers aren't up to running youtube at over 240p.

So Yeh overall i think it's pretty sucky.

I hate general education (I'm ion college.) It was the most pointless, useless two years of my life. It was basically two years of shit I had already learned in High School. I was not impressed.

Having gone through college and university i realise what a breeze it was considering what was asked from us academicly. Socially however school tends to be pretty merciless. I didn't personally have many issues that weren't outside of the expected. A couple school boy fights... but no real bullying. I know this can be different for others though, especially those with physical distinctions like scars.

It was a chor... it was boring. But i honestly can't complain.

I hear the system has changed a little, though, since i left. Children are no longer allowed to choose specific subjects, they have to take "paths" which force them down routes such as english, science or art in a totality fashion. I took art and graphics and double science, i wouldn't be able to do that now, i would have to choose art, music and drama vs double science and maths; and that sucks for children growing up now as no kid really knows what they want to do with their life. Many don't discover until their mid 20's, but certainly not until after college at best.

As for general studies. They need to make it a little more comprehensive. It was like a class for common sense (honestly... what a nuisance).

I dislike school at the moment because this is a 12 week term and it's just the end of the 11th week.
And I really, really need a break.

Last semester I was doing about 5 pages worth of writing on the daily, but for some reason I really liked it. School this semester is boring because I am not learning too much, but the people are fun. And dance class has the babes :wow:

I enjoy school. Always have. I dislike some subjects because of the teachers at times. (Mainly English) but because I enjoy most of my subjects because I have good teachers means I get on well and am doing good. Next year it'll be even better because I'll get to take Art after missing out a year on it, and get to drop English. As long as teachers are cool I could stay in school taking every subject as far on if I was allowed, because these past few years have been amazing fun with good teachers, hard work and awesome friends. After next year its onto uni then who knows.

I've never hated school, but I dislike it at the moment, simply because I'm tired of having to sit through classes where most of what I learn are fun facts at best, but usually completely irrelevant to my life, future education and/or interests.

I'm just waiting for university. That'll be great. I hope.

I generally hate the irrelevant BS, but I realise it's as much a result of political BS as anything else. I took the easy way out and ditched as much as I could that wasn't particularly relevant to my career path, which was prettymuch everything.

I really think that schools need a reform, though, because let's consider it: you need to do a whole bunch of BS about Hamlet, Othello, etc (a term's worth on each), but basic critical thinking and logical fallacies are NOT INCLUDED IN THE SCHOOL SYLLABUS AT ALL (not in english, not in any subject). I'm not saying any particular subject should be removed entirely from the syllabus, I'm saying that it should be streamlined and stuff that is potentially irrelevant (history, history, history) shouldn't be made a requirement for so long (4 years worth of work, 3 since I did accelerated, and there was basically no political content, and a whole bunch of useless crap on a "motte and bailey" which I'll probably never use).

People tend to interpret this as saying it's useless (which, quite often, it is), but the point is that the time could be better spent on more relevant subject matter.

I used to hate school on the first few grades because of learning stuff I already knew. Later it was just a minor annoyance at worst

I dont mind school. Homework and Revision are the issue for me: i'd gladly do an extra lesson a day in exchange for no homeowrk.
