How do you install custom models?

Do you want to use them in a map or you want to have them on your computer?

Either way, just extract the models and materials folders into your /tf directory (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\username\team fortress 2\tf)

You could also just extract the enclosing folder to some location then copy those folders in directly if you don't know how to extract just those.

I'd like to use them in my map. This doesn't seem to work.

Models are showing up in the directory in the model viewer, but you can't actually see them...

so you did all that, then you added the prop_static (or whatever) then you changed the model to whatever it was called? then when you hit apply in the dialogue box nothing happened? It was still a red cube?
