I have an idea for a mideval koth map with 2 forts like the one in degroot keep (the wooden one) and a bridge with the point on it and it would be under a river and you could fall off but I dont know how to execute it.

No no, they said the bridge would be under a river. Totally different. ;)

But seriously. If you're trying to figure out the entity setups, the Ultimate Mapper's Resource Pack over in the tutorials section has a file containing entity setups for all the standard gamemodes. Just find the one that's clearly for KOTH and use it as a guideline for placing the entities in your map. If you want help with something specific, feel free to drop back in here. If you want help with a lot of something-specifics, I recommend the chat room.

Also, there are two very important things you should learn to succeed succesfully :
    - Start small. Don't make super ambitious projects with tons of features for your first try. Do simple things, and then make them gradually better.
    - Just RTFM. Seriously.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this thread yet. It's full of resources and has links to several "getting started" articles.

Well, it's kind of part of the RTFM thing ^^
