i want to import some .mdl files into hammer but how do i do that?
do you already have a .mdl and want to import it, or do you want to know how to create a .mdl from a 3d model?
i already have the .mdl i just want to import it into hammer
these file types go in a subfolder of the tf/models directory
these file types go in a subfolder (of the same name as before) of the tf/materials/models directory
obviously the file names will be different for you
MaccyF is correct, but since models are compiled to use specific directories for all of their files, it's very important that they go in the right places. Authors will usually distribute their model in a pre-made directory structure, showing you where to put everything so that you don't get it wrong. Simply merge the folders you downloaded to the corresponding ones in your tf/ directory and you should have no problems.
Oh yeah, forgot to mention that, sorry
edit, you know you have the directories named wrong if the texture shows as pink and black checkers
Separate names with a comma.
