How can you tell the cost of area portals, networking, occluders?

I'm trying to budget my FPS. There are places where I put in area portals and occluders (naturally) to occlude stuff, but I have a lot of area portals. Sometimes I wonder if they cost more than they save.

When I bring up showbudget, there doesn't seem to be a category that gives the expense of them (or am I missing something?).

Oh, and the cost of func_lods. I am using them to separate func_details from world. Have no idea whether it's beneficial or bad.

Also, what sort of things contribute to the network cost in showbudget?

Anybody know this stuff? :)

There is a command (I forget it, use find occlu to find it) that will disable occluders. Toggle it back and forth and watch your FPS.

For areaportals... it's really hard to make them cost more than they reduce. It's likely not an issue unless you have a place where you can see directly through several in a line.
