How can i make a dome?

I tried subdividing a displacement, but it wont render on both sides of the dome. I know cp_observatory had one, but i want to make it myself.
do i have to make it with displacements :bored: ?
or should I carve (which is a no-no)?

From what I would know is you have to have a model to do it. I have tried to do a similar thing with a globe.
Ends up that displacements isnt a perfect sphere.
You could try making a globe, Hollowing it only for a reference and then manually create each brush as a wall, I tried that but it gave me errors when I opened it.

You know what we need? A thread listing all the best third-party Source dev tools and plugins. Updated whenever someone finds a new one. EDIT: Oh. We already have one. OK. I suggested this be added.
