KotH hole

    It's a king of the hill map with a big hole in the middle. koth_hole is my first attempt at making a tf2 map so please tell me how to make it better

    At first glance, the map looks reeeeaaaally open... there's next to no cover across the entire map, and the hallway in the second screenshot is very long (and also rather dark). The control point in particular looks very open, making anyone capturing the point extremely vulnerable to snipers. The massive-ass death pit surrounded by somewhat narrow plots of land also means that Pharos and FaN scouts are gonna have a field day (along with the snipers), and every other class (particularly heavies) will be practically useless.

    Also, it's a minor complaint, but "hole" is just not a very good name for a map :p

    There's no real separation between the spawns and the rest of the map. Most other koth maps, even Harvest, have some sort of yard out of spawn before the yard leading to the point.

    Also, the point definitely needs cover, and the map could be more angled.

    i'll try to add some fence to the point. Not sure what to do with the spawn though

    Now THIS is something else.
    I really like your giant-as-hell hole gimmick, like nucleus. But you have creekwood sightlines.
    And, try to use dev textures for your alpha. They make it easy to tell the scale of your walls, and layout changes are a snap.
    BTW: I think the point could easily benefit from being put in building, which would make sense in universe, because you need an elevator or crane to get something or someone into the quarry :)

    One more thing: Change the name. Hole is boring and unoriginal. Change it to something like RustHole.

    I lied, another thing: Everyone stop doubting the map so much. And Chungus, don't doubt yourself either. I have once made a terrible map into a map that isn't a sin.

    Your file name both A: has capital letters, and B: doesn't have a version! It should say koth_hole_a1

    I hope you didn't do it in wrong way. But anyway i tell it. Don't rename just your .bsp. Because this will not work properly. Rename your .vmf file -> compile it.

    Try moving it further back and adding a building with a few different entrances and exits in front of it.
