Hello. I'm H-land, and I usually don't do introduction threads because they make me feel awkward, but for some reason I feel that I should make one here.

That aside, I'm going into my senior year of high school in ever-exciting central Ohio, a land so filled with adventure and wonder that I feel like I miss absolutely nothing at all when I spend all day playing games on the computer, working on maps, and chatting on IRC. Aside from Team Fortress 2 (a given), games that I play (or used to play a lot) include (but are not limited to) Morrowind, Oblivion, Civilization 4, and Sim City 4.

I decided to join the forums here because, while I've never considered myself to be particularly good at modding any sort of game, or 3D modeling, or even creating textures, I had (what I thought to be) a really interesting and fairly unique idea for a map a while ago that's had me working in Hammer for probably about nine months or a year. Only recently, however, have I reached the level of confidence where I'm willing to release my work to the public and found myself needing to register at sites where my map might get noticed. Since FPSB didn't seem to like it when I tried to register there (as is evidenced by a vicious circle that I will expand upon if asked) and this site seemed fairly popular, I decided to join.

Now I'll probably just lurk a bunch though, in all honesty. I don't find myself posting on forums very often.

    Hi and welcome to TF2Maps.net H-land! :D

To get started, you should read through the TF2 wiki and our own rather impressive Tutorial section.

If you need help with Entities download this. However, you need to download this so the Entities will work right. Now if you need help with things like doors download this. Lastly if you have a hate for the model browser download this.

After you are done with your project you can upload it here or you can use a very useful program that a lot of other mappers use called Dropbox.

Don't worry about making it pretty just yet. However, feel free to sign up for gameday for some good testing. Gamedays are on Fridays in the euro server and Saturday/Sunday in the U.S. server.

If you have any other questions, there is usually someone in Steam chat who can help. Welcome to the group!

    Lastly don't forget!
