According to Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/news/10962/), the 2013-updated Source now runs on Mac OS X, correct? But, but when I try to download it (steam://run/211), it says that it doesn't run on my current platform! What am I doing wrong?

The engine supports OS X. The developer tools do not. If you're trying to make a mod that works on Macs, then that's good news; if you're trying to make mods or maps using it, you're as hosed as you would have been in 2004.

Damn. As I feared. Thanks for clarifying, though!

Any tips on using WineSkin, perchance?

You could use pararel desctop and use hammer that way.
And you will not suffer great frame or performance drop.

Oh by the way look up a tutorial to opening hammer correctly.
Since opening it through the launcher does not work.

    Use Wine or a VM.
