I'm completely new to mapping, although I've been playing TF2 for far too long. I decided to pick mapping for an integrated project I was assigned at school. I'm going to (hopefully ) try to create a sort of payload map that is relatively simple, but still has sustenance. I've had a look at general guides and I've spent only a few short hours in the Hammer editor, but what I aim to accomplish is something much closer to playable and aesthetically decent. I might use these forums to document the progression of the project. So, if anyone has any tips for newbies or any other helpful advice, I'd love to hear them!
