hdr lighting

    so im attempting hdr lighing. it really burns my eyes when i tried it. I understand how it works (i think) but, I just want to see if anyone can share any pointers and experience they have with dealing it. What are good ideas bad ideas, that kind of thing.

    Use a tone map controller to control how much bloom will be rendered. Tone down the intensity of the light for hdr only. I found that about half is good.

    You need an env_tonemap_controller (name it tonemap_global) and a logic_auto in your map. Add those outputs to the logic_auto:

    Output | Target entity | Input | Parameter
    OnMapSpawn | tonemap_global | SetAutoExposureMin | 0.7
    OnMapSpawn | tonemap_global | SetAutoExposureMax | 1.1
    OnMapSpawn | tonemap_global | SetBloomScale | 0.3
