No I haven't, however I'm not fully against it.
I've met Youme in person a while ago, and since I cosplay I've met quite a lot of people through 4chan and the like at conventions.
You gotta be pretty cautious about who you meet, but most of the time the people I meet are all really awesome and fantastic. Though I would be concerned if you just met someone online and wanted to meet, usually I get to know people a good couple of months before I meet them in person.
I had a friend on Steam (still have) which I discovered later that he was on my Organic Chemistry class.
Met a ton of people from my usual TF2 server at PAX East the past two years.
The leader of the clan I've been in since I was 13 (I'm 25) moved across the country and is living about a half hour away from me now. He's over right now, even.
Yes, I went to a theme park with a guy I met on TF2 - he lives in Poland but he was in England on holiday. I'm all for it, but, it'd have to be someone I talk more than play games with. On the flip side, I met someone in real life who happens to play on the same minecraft server as me! On a Computer Science course I suppose the odds are a little higher.
We still need to go for a drink someday
Anyways yeah, have met Howling Techie in a pro gaming bar, aka Kyoto Lounge.
Back when uhh... wow, it was ten years ago now, I guess, I went to a LAN party for a TFC server/clan I played on because it was only an hour or two drive away. But it was complete "strangers" I only knew through the internet, not even photos or anything. It wasn't too big, something like 10-12 people. Went the only two years they had it before the community kinda drifted apart.
Yeah a few times. Pretty much necessary when trying to do serious projects
Yes and 3 of them become real good friends, the 3 guys behind the I hate mountain left 4 dead campaign.
Went by Aberdeen once, which is where one of my online friends lives, but we decided not to meet.
Mhhhh no. I'm not against it tho
Indeed we do. UK meet sometime at the Kyoto Lounge?
lan parties are fucking awesome man, I've met a bunch of people from the comp scene in my days. good times
Should have made the poll public. Which one of you would never meet someone from the Internet?
So we can find you IRL and hurt you
Ran into TheUlf at one point, but before I realized it was him, we had kept going past each other.
I wonder if Mangy pops back still...
"Let You Go" by Chase and Status suddenly starts playing in my mind.
I don't know which I should vote but I have 8 real-life friends who are on internet.
Ooo... I meet first friends on the facebook before I meet then in real life, at my school.
I have met two people from forums, both completely by coincidence.
Separate names with a comma.
