    hmmm...something new for me again.

I have a leak in an alpha map - but no pointfile being created - I can't seem to find it anywhere on my machine.

Any ideas on what's happening to it?

If it helps, a pointfile may also have a .pts extension, depending on what compiler you are using.

Areaportals tend to mess up pointfiles sometimes. Happened to me, at least.
Maybe you have some larger error in your map? check alt+p.
Last thing I can think of is just a prop out of play area.

You can always copy+paste the compile log leaks coordinates, though

    Yeah, that is another thing.

If you want, you could just copy and paste the error here to see if there is any extra info you may have missed :D

no pts file either - does hammer put them somewhere? What I mean by this is - is there a configurable route I could do from the tools>options thing but I can't seem to see it in that area.

Ok - I found the solution to my problem am posting it here for reference in case someone else needs the answer.

When I ran the compile - I was running it on world geometry only and got a leak but no .lin or .pst file

When I put props/other entities back into he map and ran the compiler, I got the leak but this time I got the .lin file.

Both leak and solution solved :)
